The Park is a Local Opportunity Centre. Its first responsibility is
to the community of Knowle West, helping to strengthen the
regeneration process in the area.
The site features excellent business facilities, soon to be expanded
under an ongoing refurbishment programme. Some days there can be as
many as 1000 people enjoying the benefits of The Park.
Over 200 people work directly for The Park or are employed by the
organisations and entrepreneurs based here.
Accessibility: Most of our facilities are ground floor level
and we've put a lot of energy into making the site more accessible.
A lift has been installed at the front of the building but it's
possible for wheelchair users to gain easy access to the vast
majority of the site from ground level.
The Park is managed jointly by Bristol City Council, through the
Learning Communities Team.
The Park follows Bristol City Council's equal opportunities policy. Please contact us if you would like full details.
The site itself was originally Merrywood Boys Secondary School,
built for 1500 pupils. When the school closed a group of local
people campaigned to have the premises kept open for the community.
The Park has brought new social, educational and business
opportunities that otherwise would not have existed.
